Although, I was supposed to attend my first LULAC meeting, I was redirected to go and support Student Government‘s Immigration Subcommittee. After the announcement to terminate DACA was made, September 5th 2017, students expressed fear for their futures at Texas State. Trials in Getting Involved

Killing Two Birds with One Stone

Since the semester started, I was ready to join clubs, because I knew it was the easiest way to meet new people (besides tinder) while doing something productive for The Community. I was already interested in joining Latinas Unidas, but I did not know how to. I thought I would eventually meet a member who would then invite me to join, but I did not meet anyone, so I had already missed the first two meetings. Although, I also was not aware of the meetings and had been busy with homework. One of my assignments, was to complete a Twitter Scavenger Hunt. Fortunately, it is because of that assignment that I found out about the Student Involvement Fair and the Hispanic Welcome Reception.
